Privacy Policy

Mereden (“we”, “us”) helps match verified STEM experts with AI labs and research teams for paid evaluation, data work, and related projects. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have — written for an expert marketplace similar in purpose to platforms like Mercor, Scale, Outlier, and other AI training talent networks.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to visitors of meredenai.com, people who create expert accounts, applicants to roles, company / lab contacts who submit interest forms, and administrators operating the Mereden console.

2. Information we collect

Account & identity

  • Full legal name, email address, password (stored as a one-way hash), and optional phone number
  • Sign-in metadata if you use Google, Apple, Outlook / Microsoft, or GitHub (provider account id, email, and display name)
  • Email verification status

Expert profile & resume data

  • LinkedIn URL (or a note that you do not have LinkedIn)
  • Resume / CV file you upload, summary, skills, languages, education and experience you enter
  • Location and work-authorization attestations (country, state/city, postal code, start availability, timezone, rates, domain interests)
  • Communication preferences (email / SMS / role-type opt-ins)

Applications & marketplace activity

  • Role applications, proposal text, status history, and related timestamps
  • Lead forms from Companies, Experts, and Contact pages

Technical data

  • Session cookies used to keep you signed in
  • Basic server logs (IP address, user agent, request path, timestamps) for security and reliability

We do not use biometric monitoring, keystroke dynamics, or invasive screen capture as part of the Mereden product.

3. How we use information

  • Create and secure your account, and keep you signed in
  • Match you to Coding, Maths, Chemistry, and Physics opportunities
  • Let Mereden admins review applications and expert profiles (CRM-style operations)
  • Contact you about applications, onboarding, payouts, or support
  • Improve product quality, prevent abuse, and comply with law

We do not sell personal data. We do not rent expert contact lists to advertisers.

4. Sharing

We share information only as needed to run Mereden:

  • AI labs / company partners — relevant profile and application details when you apply or are shortlisted for a project
  • Service providers — hosting (e.g. Netlify for the website, Railway for API/database), email or auth providers if configured
  • Legal — if required by law, court order, or to protect users and Mereden from fraud or harm

5. Cookies & sessions

We use an HTTP-only session cookie (mereden_session) to authenticate you after login. Social sign-in may set a short-lived OAuth state cookie during the provider redirect. You can clear cookies in your browser; doing so will sign you out.

6. Data retention

We keep account, profile, application, and lead data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for matching, compliance, dispute resolution, and audit. You may request deletion of your account data by emailing contact@meredenai.com.

7. Security

Passwords are hashed (bcrypt). Sessions use signed JWTs in HTTP-only cookies. Access to admin CRM tools is limited to designated admin accounts. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; please use a strong unique password.

8. Your choices & rights

  • Update profile and resume data anytime from your Profile page
  • Opt out of non-essential email/SMS preferences in Communications settings
  • Request access, correction, or deletion by contacting us
  • If you are in a region with additional privacy rights (e.g. GDPR/CCPA-style rights), contact us and we will respond consistent with applicable law

9. Children

Mereden is intended for adults who can lawfully work on expert evaluation projects. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

10. International transfers

Mereden may process data on servers outside your country (including cloud hosts used for the website, API, and database). By using Mereden you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations with appropriate safeguards.

11. Changes

We may update this policy as Mereden grows (for example, when adding new sign-in providers or payout partners). The “Last updated” date above will change when we do. Material changes may also be announced on the site or by email.
