Mereden (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates meredenai.com and related services that match credential-verified experts with AI labs and research teams for paid evaluation and related work. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Introduction

At Mereden, we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform to connect credential-verified experts with AI labs and research teams for paid evaluation and data work. This policy applies to all users of the Mereden platform, including experts, company / AI lab contacts, and visitors to our website.

By using the Mereden platform and agreeing to our Terms of Service, you acknowledge and consent to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our platform.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Personal information

We collect personal information that you provide directly to us, including:

  • Full legal name, email address, phone number, and other contact information
  • Password (stored as a one-way hash) when you sign up with email
  • Resume / CV, work history, skills, languages, education, and professional qualifications
  • LinkedIn URL (or a note that you do not have LinkedIn)
  • Location and work-authorization details (country, city, availability, timezone, rates, domain interests)
  • Role applications, proposal text, and communication preferences

2.2 Automatically collected information

We automatically collect certain information when you use our platform:

  • Device and connection information (IP address, browser type, operating system, user agent)
  • Usage data (pages visited, request paths, timestamps)
  • Session cookies used to keep you signed in, and short-lived OAuth state cookies during Google sign-in

We do not use biometric monitoring, keystroke dynamics, or invasive screen capture as part of Mereden.

2.3 Information from third parties

We may receive information about you from third-party sources, including:

  • Google, if you choose to sign in with Google (see 2.4 below)
  • Professional networking sites you link in your profile (e.g. LinkedIn), where you provide the URL
  • Public records, where relevant to verifying a credential you have claimed

2.4 Google Sign-In (OAuth)

If you choose Continue with Google, we use Google OAuth to authenticate you. With your consent, Google may share:

  • Your Google account email address
  • Your Google display name
  • Your Google account unique ID (subject)
  • Whether Google has verified the email

We use this information only to create or sign in to your Mereden account, keep you logged in, and operate the expert marketplace (profile, applications, admin review). We do not access your Gmail, Drive, Contacts, or other Google services beyond basic OpenID / email / profile scopes needed for sign-in.

You can revoke Mereden’s access anytime in your Google Account permissions. Revoking access does not automatically delete your Mereden account; email us to request deletion.

How we access, use, store, and share Google user data:

  • Access · only email, name, Google account ID, and email-verified status via Google Sign-In (OpenID / email / profile)
  • Use · authenticate you, create or link your Mereden account, and show your name and email in the product
  • Store · email, name, and Google account ID on our servers with your Mereden account, for as long as the account is active
  • Share · we do not sell Google user data. We do not share Google Sign-In data with advertisers. We may share your name and email with AI lab partners only when you apply or are shortlisted for a role

Mereden’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not allow humans to read Google user data unless you request support, we must secure the service, or law requires it.

3. How we use your information

  • To provide and maintain our platform services
  • To create and secure your account, and keep you signed in
  • To match credential-verified experts with Coding, Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Finance, Legal, Medicine, and related opportunities
  • To let Mereden admins review applications and expert profiles
  • To communicate with you about applications, onboarding, payouts, or support
  • To ensure platform security and prevent fraud
  • To improve platform functionality and comply with legal obligations

We do not sell personal data. We do not rent expert contact lists to advertisers.

4. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we process your personal data based on the following legal grounds:

  • Consent · when you explicitly agree to a data processing activity, such as Google Sign-In
  • Contract performance · to fulfil our obligations under our Terms of Service, such as operating your expert account and applications
  • Legitimate interest · to improve our services, secure our platform, and provide a better user experience
  • Legal obligation · to comply with applicable laws and regulations

5. Information sharing and disclosure

We share information only as needed to run Mereden:

  • With AI labs / company partners · relevant profile and application details when you apply or are shortlisted for a role
  • With service providers · hosting, infrastructure, and platform functionality providers, and Google for Sign-In authentication
  • For legal reasons · when required by law, court order, or to protect users and Mereden from fraud or harm
  • Business transfers · in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy continuing to apply to your data

6. Cookies and tracking technologies

We use an HTTP-only session cookie (mereden_session) after login, and a short-lived OAuth state cookie during Google Sign-In. These are essential cookies required for basic platform functionality — clearing them signs you out of Mereden. We do not currently use analytics or marketing cookies; if that changes, we will update this policy and provide a cookie consent banner before doing so.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access · request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification · update profile and resume data from your Profile page, or request correction of inaccurate data
  • Erasure · request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal requirements)
  • Objection · object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Withdrawal of consent · revoke Google Sign-In access in your Google Account at any time

To exercise these rights, contact us using the information in Section 13. We will respond to your request within 30 days, unless additional time is required.

8. Data security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure, accidental loss or destruction, and data breaches. Passwords are hashed (bcrypt); sessions use signed tokens in HTTP-only cookies; admin CRM access is limited to designated admin accounts. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Data retention

We retain account, profile, application, and lead data for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When we no longer need your personal data, we securely delete or anonymize it. You may request earlier deletion by emailing support@meredenai.com.

10. International data transfers

Your personal data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including cloud hosts for our website, API, and database. When we transfer data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards, including standard contractual clauses and other measures required by applicable law.

11. Children's privacy

Mereden is intended for adults who can lawfully work on expert evaluation projects. Our platform is not intended for children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 16, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete it.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above, and notify you of significant changes through our platform or by email where required by law. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
